 | Larry Adams has been SBMA's President since 1980. Before becoming the president, he worked with the association for two years as the insurance program manager. Back then, SBMA was simply known as Carolina Lumber and Building Material Dealer's Association and only included the states North and South Carolina. His previous work experience includes acting as the Regional Vice President of Underwriting for Safeco Insurance. Prior to working at Safeco he was in the U.S. Navy for four years. He has a BS in Occupational Education from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

 | Kathy Wooley is Assistant to SBMA's President, Larry Adams. Before joining the staff in 1992, she worked at Miller Computing Service as a software support agent and trainer. The Carolinas-Tennessee Building Material Association was one of her clients. One day when she was out visiting customers, she was offered a position by Larry. She currently manages the annual building products buying show and plans the fall and spring membership meetings. She has a BS in Home Economics from Ohio State University.

 | Cindy Hartley is SBMA's Director of Member Relations. Her responsibilities include planning the Virginia membership meeting and speaker coordination for all events. She also plans all the educational seminars and workshops as well as coordinating SBMA attendees to NLBMDA’s Conference with Congress. She joined the Virginia Building Material Association in 1973 as the Assistant Director. She graduated from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music with a major in Voice and a minor in Piano.

 | Joan Elliott is SBMA's Controller. She has been on staff at SMBA since 1999. Prior to that, she worked at MHI (Material Handling Industry) as the assistant controller. MHI is closely related to work at SBMA in that they deal with forklifts, cranes, and have an annual building products buying show. Before MHI Joan was the payroll manager for over 5,000 employees at Amoco. She attended Georgia Southern and left with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting.
