WEBINAR:  Building a Team with Subcontractors

It is common to use contractors or subcontractors instead of hiring permanent staff when the work is short term and expert skills are needed for a finite period or the extent of the workload is unknown.  Many companies, large and small, rely on subcontractors for their primary labor source or specialized skills.  Attend this webinar and you will learn how to make subcontractors part of your “Team” by gaining their loyalty, creating incentives and tracking performance.

WEBINAR:  Residential Sprinkler Systems

Will Save Lives But ... How Will It Affect Your Business?

Fires in new homes have become far more aggressive than in years past.  Today’s new homes have large, open floor plans, lightweight engineered structural materials, nearly airtight construction and furnishings that are largely made from synthetic materials as opposed to natural fibers.  These factors contribute to fires that generate huge volumes of toxic smoke that quickly fills a home and reduce time until structural failure, placing occupants and responding firefighters at risk.

This seminar will provide participants with a basic knowledge of “residential fire environment” and will provide an overview of some methods that building codes are now using to improve fire safety, among them are new requirements to protect lightweight, engineered structural members and to provide residential fire sprinkler systems.

Lumber dealers providing building materials to builders and remodelers could realize additional sales by supplying parts for residential sprinkler systems as well as fire retardant lumber and building supplies.

WEBINAR:  Overcoming Objection

Increasing Sales...Increasing Profits

Bob Janet has been helping dealers and their sales staffs discover how to address difficult issues and increase sales. He’s made a name for himself by helping salespeople succeed in especially difficult environments. Read all about what will be covered in this special program below:

Learn how to advance and close the sale when the customer says,

  • “Your price is too high!”

  • “Your price is higher than the competition!”

  • “I am not interested!”

  • “I already have someone that handles my work!”

  • “I am happy with my current dealer, thank you!”

  • “That sounds good, give me a few weeks to think about it.”

  • “Call me in 6 months, then I will be ready to talk about it.”

  • “Our budget has been cut.”

  • “We employ our own crew to do that work.”

  • “I have done business with your company before and did not have a good experience!”

Have more questions/responses like these? You provide the list! Bob will show you how to get around the problem. He’ll also teach you how the “WHY” question can be your best friend!

At the end of this sales growth program:

  • You will no longer retreat when the customer gives you an objection.

  • You will know how to combine an Aggressive Attitude with company benefits and techniques that cause the customer to close themselves.

  • You will welcome objections and use them to increase your sales and profits!

Dust Collectors: Incorporating Safety, Performance & OSHA Standards

Lumber / wood products were determined by OSHA standards as the second highest impacted industry of dust concerns.  OSHA has had a Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program (NEP) since March 2008.  As a result OSHA has increased their educational enforcement actions and fines in this particular area due to a number of explosions resulting from combustible dust.

Attendees will learn the basic understanding of the combustible dust issue, discuss critical housekeeping tips, precautions you should take, what standards apply to our industry and recommendations as they pertain to OSHA’s NEP.

We’ll also explore the idea of using dust collection systems. Do you struggle with the challenge to validate the investment in proper dust collection systems for the immediate justification of its ROI measure?  Dust collection does not necessarily show an immediate revenue return – it is a long-term investment without obvious short-term gain.  But if you have insufficient dust control, how efficiently is your equipment running?  How severely are you depreciating the value of your equipment or damaging it due to the added strain of improper dust?

Join us as we dive deeper into this topic and discuss critical items such as dust collection terminology and what you need to be aware of.  We’ll also discuss the true importance of proper dust collection and how to ensure you get the maximum returns from your machinery investments.
